I finally bought the Tamiya 1:700 scale Tugger set, that included all the ships you see on the picture plus some smaller ones.
I think they are big enough to be objectives in an Escort/Convoy game, but small enough not to take up too much board space.
"What would Picard do?" A Wargaming Blog
This is a blog about wargaming and possibly some totally unrelated topics. I used to be a 28mm player, but slowly I'm switching to 15mm for all the benefits it offers. Tabletop-wise I'm interested in Steampunk, Scifi, historical (as long as it has nothing to do with Napoleon)and some other things.

Dystopian Wars freighters and troop carriers
Khurasan Ogre beetle finished
Somehow I'm not satisfied with how my miniatures turn out these days, but I'm really satisfied with this Khurasan Ogre beetle that I finished:
The base colour for the "yellow" bugs is Tausept Ochre from GW and the drybrushing is done with a mix of the base coulour and Bleached Bone.

15mm Scifi progress
Mecha Action! Someone on TMP recommended these Armored Core models. 7$ for this beauty shipping included was a great bargain. I will change or convert the weapons, as they look to anime-like and don't fit to the rest of my 15mm stuff.
Rackham sold the last of their stock so several retailers and I hat to buy those TAC Arms suits. Perfect little assault mechas for my Galactic Alliance forces. They are pre-painted, but I'll try a different paint scheme.
Finally my bug horde got a big bruiser to storm those human fortresses. Truly beautiful kit from Khurasan.
A Star Wars model from Revell, that turned out to be too small for a real dropship, so I will use it as crashed recon ship.

Start of a possible 15mm Post Apocalypse Project
From my grandfather I got a lot of railway buildings (some still in box and scale H0) and a lot of them could fit into a postapocalyptic world (Fallout 3 style). So I decided to build a small table.
Miniaturewise I'll go for Khurasan (as always), Ground Zero Games and Thescene.
Imagine these two burger/snack stands dust filled, with bullet holes, broken glass and washed out colours. The glass will be added after the paintjob.

Picture update - Bug horde and Felids, stuff
This is the Space Pals Bounty Hunter from Highlander Studios. I just love this minature and so I tried to make a better picture.
Watching and reading too much "Power armour versus bugs" stuff, I'm assembling a bug horde plus power armoured troops.
More soldiers for my "cat people" army.
Had these crystals lying around for a while and I'm quite satisfied with the result.
Althought the colours are a little bit "overdone", I present you an overview of my alien world table so far.
Brigade Games - 15mm Scifi models
I recently bought both packs of Brigade Games' new 15mm Scifi miniatures:
Pictures taken from the Brigade Games Hompage without permission. I finished one alien (first picture, on the far right) and I really enjoy painting this miniatures as they are gorgeous sculpts. At the moment I'm painting the middle on in the first picture in fleshy tones (I call him the "fatso rat"). I can honestly recommend buying those! Brigades fast delivery was, as always, a deligth.

Some more troops and a growing forest of alien flora
Finally I finished my fist Garn squad. Escpecially the skin was fun to paint, as drybrushing and a solid wash worked wonders. I still have 3 Garn left, but finally I can use them as a fireteam for AE Bounty Hunter or Tomorrow's War.
These are my favorite conversions in my whole collection. Battle robots from Thescene.uk with sculpted backpacks, visors and broader hips to look like Starcraft marines and a firebat. The visors are a pain in the neck to sculpt, but I think it was worth it. Still I don't feel the urge to make more than 5 of those ;)
Space Pals from Highlanders Studios: You should buy one of those sets, because it's for a good cause and you get three of the best space opera characters ever. The fury carpet got an bionic eye(-patch).
The big ass alien skeleton pieces are from a cheap magazin that came with a big lion skeleton. But even its size didn't protect it from the hordes of bugs....
That's it so far with my alien forest. Some exotic nuts, some dried plants and aquarium stuff. More to come, because I'm fed up with alien worlds that have earth-like vegetation (reason: Lazy gamers).
These are 6mm Demonscape buildings that are really cheap (sold on evilbay), but work as 15mm generators and stuff as well.
The red fat guy and hi unpainted friends are VOR/VOID growler pups. You can buy them from Ral Partha for a nice price and they make great local alien creatures. Sizewise I think they are perfect! I'm not sure which colour I will use on the unpainted ones.
The turquoise/yellow miniatures are Hunter Khans from Critical Mass Games. I'm really satisfied with the colour scheme, although I'm not sure how well it's gonna work on those Khurasan Felids.
